Katy Web Co. ("Katy Web Co.", "we", "us") builds and manages websites and online marketing for home-service businesses in the Katy and Houston, Texas area. This policy explains what information we collect through katywebco.com, what we do with it, and the information we handle on behalf of the clients who hire us.

Information we collect from this website

Information you give us

This site has two forms, and both are optional — you can browse the entire site without entering anything.

• Quote / contact form. Your name, email address, phone number, the service you're interested in, and whatever details you choose to write.
• Business snapshot form (the /start questionnaire). Information about your business: business name, type, description, service area, team size, whether you have a website, where your leads come from, how you handle calls and scheduling, your review habits, capacity, and the frustrations or goals you describe — plus your name, email, phone, and preferred way to be contacted.

Form submissions are delivered to us through Netlify Forms, the service that hosts this website. We use what you send to reply to you, prepare a quote or a plan, and — if we end up working together — to do the work.

Information collected automatically

• Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-JR4EDT0H6E) records things like pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location, device and browser type, and general usage patterns. It sets cookies in your browser.
• Standard server logs kept by our host, which include IP addresses and request details.
• Google Fonts are loaded from Google's servers so the site displays correctly, which means Google receives a request from your browser.

How we use information

• To answer your message and put together a quote or proposal.
• To deliver the services a client has hired us for.
• To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
• To keep the site working, secure, and free of spam.
• To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We don't send marketing email blasts from this site — if you hear from us, it's a direct reply about your inquiry or your project.

Information we handle for clients

When a business hires us, we're often given access to accounts that business owns, so we can do the work they're paying for. Depending on the engagement, that can include their website and hosting, domain and DNS settings, Google Business Profile, Google Analytics and Search Console, and their Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Clients remain the owners of their accounts and their data. We act on their instructions.

Service providers we rely on

We use a small number of established providers to run the business. They only receive what they need to do their job:

• Netlify — website hosting and form delivery.
• Google — Analytics, Search Console, Business Profile, Fonts, and email.
• Meta (Facebook / Instagram) — publishing and insights for client accounts, as described above.
• Stripe — payment processing for client invoices and subscriptions. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
• Resend and Microsoft 365 — sending and receiving email, including client reports.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies for Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works fine either way. We don't run advertising or retargeting pixels on katywebco.com.

How long we keep information

Form submissions and project records are kept as long as we need them to serve you and to satisfy tax and record-keeping requirements — generally a few years. Analytics data follows Google's retention settings. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Your choices and your rights

You can ask us to show you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and you may have similar rights under other state laws.

Requesting deletion of your data

Email mike@katywebco.com with the subject line "Data deletion request", and tell us which information you want removed. We'll confirm and complete the request within 30 days. There's no cost, and you don't need an account with us to ask.

If you're a client and want to end our access to your Facebook Page or Instagram account, you can remove it yourself at any time in Meta Business Suite under Settings, or email us and we'll do it.

Security

We use reputable hosting and service providers, keep credentials restricted to those who need them, and store secrets outside of shared folders. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security — but we take it seriously and we don't collect more than we need.

Children

This site is aimed at business owners. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. Meaningful changes will be noted here.
